Successful organizations understand the benefits of information technology (IT) and use this knowledge to drive their shareholders’ value. They recognize the critical dependence of many business processes on IT, the need to comply with increasing regulatory compliance demands and the benefits of managing risk effectively. To aid organizations in successfully meeting today’s business challenges, ISACA has published version COBIT® 4.1.

COBIT is an IT governance framework and supporting toolset that allows managers to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks. COBIT enables clear policy development and good practice for IT control throughout organizations. COBIT emphasizes regulatory compliance, helps organizations to increase the value attained from IT, enables alignment and simplifies implementation of the COBIT framework.

Schedule to release in 2011, COBIT 5 will consolidate and integrate the COBIT 4.1, Val IT 2.0 and Risk IT frameworks and also draw significantly from the Business Model for Information Security (BMIS) and ITAF. More information on CobiT could be obtained on ISACA.org. We advise our customers to download CobiT freely from ISACA and also to become member of the association and access hundredds of references and publications available to members. Georges Ataya and Sushil Chatterji participated in the future framework committee, directing the development of ´╗┐CobiT 5.

ICT Control partners are proficient with the use of CobiT. Some of them have used it since the first versions called "Control Objectives" in 1991. Others participated in the creation of the major release 4.0 in 2004.

ICT Control  trained classes in various continents where participants learned how to use CobiT for implementing IT Governance, improve IT processes, audit the IT Function, and implement performance measurement and maturity evaluation.
